I wanted to touch on Jehovah's God power, so this blog belongs here in "Heavy Christian Topics and Beliefs!" Many people believe the powers of God don't exist any more. Well I don't see any one rising from the dead, but that doesn't mean Jehovah's God powers don't exist, I will explain with scriptures.
Jehovah God teaches in 1 Corinthians 13:8-10
"8 Charity never faileth; but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."
So let me break this down. 1 Corinthians 13:9 says we know in part, and we prophesy in part, so there is a part of a whole portion, correct? Yes we only have a portion of a whole and not the whole portion.
Now 1 Corinthians 13:10 is a little tricky, we need to go back to the words that were translated, on being teleios translated to "perfect" meaning perfect, or complete in all its parts (my focus), also full grown or of full age, and specially of the completeness of Christian character. Another word is katargeó translated to "shall be done away" meaning I make idle or inactive, abolish, also I discharge.
So currently we only know in part until things are perfect because perfect is coming, correct? Yes, perfection is coming for you and me, that is another topic for my blog, but it is coming, 1 Corinthians 13:10 says so. Next we have only a portion of the whole but the portion shall be done away, or discharged! Show us that we will again have a whole portion again. This goes in harmony with Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God." Remember in Genesis 3:8 "And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:" so God was with mankind to start, and soon God will be with us again. So the part will be done away and we will have a whole portion of a divine relationship with Jehovah God.
So lets look at 1 Corinthians 14:22 "Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not; but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe." Simply, the sign are to win you over to be a believer, for if you believe you benefit from the prophesying.
Now the difficult part is Romans 13:2 "Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God; and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." It isn't to easy to believe, but to resit isn't a good plan is it? Almost goes in harmony with 1 Corinthians 3:19 "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh with wise in their own craftiness." and 1 Corinthians 1:21 "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleases God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." It like Proverbs 4:7 is at hand here "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding."
